Two women and a child reported encountering a brilliant diamond-shaped object over a Texas roadway, followed by claims of intense heat exposure, physical injuries, and numerous military helicopters.
On the evening of December 29, 1980, Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum, and seven-year-old Colby Landrum were driving near Dayton, Texas when they reported encountering a large, diamond-shaped object hovering above the road. The witnesses described intense heat radiating from the object, forcing them to stop their vehicle. They later reported burns, nausea, hair loss, and other medical symptoms that they attributed to the encounter. They also reported seeing numerous military helicopters surrounding or accompanying the object. The witnesses later filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government, alleging military involvement, but the case was dismissed because responsibility for the helicopters could not be established.
