Senior military officer involved in coordinating the Air Force response to the Tehran incident. General Yousefi, the Assistant Deputy Commander of Operations for the Imperial Iranian Air Force. He was the senior officer who received initial citizen reports of a large, bright object over Tehran on September 19, 1976, personally confirmed the sighting, and ordered the scramble of F-4 Phantom jets to intercept the unidentified craft, which caused electronic interference and radar anomalies.
