Senior Belgian Air Force officer who publicly discussed the military investigation into the Belgian UFO Wave. Wilfried de Brouwer is a retired Major General of the Belgian Air Force who served as Chief of Operations in the Air Staff during the Belgian UFO wave of 1989–1990. He led the official investigation into hundreds of sightings of large, triangular craft that exhibited impossible acceleration and silent flight, scrambling F-16 fighter jets on three occasions to intercept them. Despite confirming that no known military or experimental aircraft were in the airspace, the Air Force could not identify the nature or origin of the phenomena, leaving the events as an unexplained mystery.
