Radar Controller
Radar operator involved in tracking unidentified targets during the July 1952 events. Edward Nugent was an air traffic controller at Washington National Airport (now Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport) who, on July 19, 1952, detected seven unidentified objects on his radar screen. The objects were located 15 miles south-southwest of the city, not following any known flight paths, and moving at speeds and with maneuvers unlike ordinary aircraft.
