On January 8, 2008, Claudette Odom and her husband Mike Odom were among the first witnesses to report a massive, silent object with bright strobe lights hovering over Stephenville, Texas. Standing on a hill with clear visibility, Claudette described the lights as being "extremely, extremely bright," resembling "an arc on a welder," before they formed a vertical line that split into two.
The group observed two F-16 fighter jets screaming over their hill in apparent pursuit of the unidentified object, which then vanished at high speed. Although the U.S. Air Force initially denied having any jets in the area, they reversed their stance two weeks later, admitting that nearly a dozen F-16s were present due to an "internal communications error," which bolstered the credibility of the witnesses' accounts.
