On May 9, 2001, physician and UFO researcher Dr. Steven Greer presented The Disclosure Project at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
The event brought together former military personnel, government employees, pilots, and other individuals who claimed to have firsthand knowledge of UFO/UAP encounters, government investigations, and alleged efforts to conceal information concerning unidentified aerial phenomena.
Greer called for the U.S. government to release information relating to UFO sightings and alleged government involvement in the subject. The presentation received significant attention and became one of the more prominent UFO-related press events of the early 2000s.
