U.S. Navy pilots observed and recorded an unidentified aerial object displaying unusual rotation and flight characteristics during training operations. The object was later released publicly by the Pentagon as part of UAP disclosures.
On January 21, 2015, Navy pilots from the USS Theodore Roosevelt encountered multiple unidentified aerial objects during routine training exercises off the U.S. East Coast. One object, captured on infrared FLIR systems, appeared to rotate mid-air while maintaining steady flight against strong winds. The footage, later dubbed 'GIMBAL', was officially released by the Pentagon in 2017 alongside other confirmed UAP videos. The object demonstrated no visible propulsion system and exhibited flight characteristics inconsistent with known aircraft.
